Forebears

He came into the world during the British occupation and is a son of a single mother. He grows up in a period of many discussions between the church and the state on the legal marriage of slaves, recognize the children and education. While the wide-ranging discussion on morality and debauchery in society was going on, the little boy later becomes an example for the marriage between slaves and free people. At a young age, he gets a love affair with a slave girl, daughter of a manumitted slave. In 1841 they married and stayed together until death.
